                                    VISAS

Detailed information on how the visa system and the entry of foreigners in Italy and into the countries of the Schengen Treaty are regulated can be found at the official website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Holders of HKSAR passports (issued by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) and Macao SAR passports (issued by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region) are exempt from visa requirement when entering the Schengen Area for stays no longer than 3 months ONLY for tourism and business.

Please also note that BNO passport holders are exempt from visa requirements to enter Italy for tourism or business for stays no longer than 3 months.

Applicants under 18 years of age, together with their visa application form, are also required to submit a declaration of assent signed by both parents (or by their legal guardian/s) before the Officer of the Visa Section or the local competent Authority.

HOW TO APPLY FOR AN ITALIAN VISA

The Visa Section of this Consulate General is open to the public from Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m.- 12.00 p.m.

All documentation for visa applications (original and one photocopy) must be submitted  to our office in person by the interested applicant. Go-betweens (travel agencies, etc.) are not allowed. No urgency fees for any type of visa can be charged. Visas can be issued only to applicants residing in the Hong Kong S.A.R. and Macao S.A.R.

Applicants under 18 years of age are required to comply with specific regulations. Information relevant to their case may be obtained from the Visa Section of this Consulate General.
